A recent wedding in Haryana’s Kurukshetra has become a cherished local event. Chris, a groom from Germany, and Shreya, a bride from Haryana, exchanged vows in a traditional Hindu ceremony. Arriving from across the globe, Chris embraced the rituals on October 26, even enthusiastically joining the celebratory wedding procession.
Shreya and Chris’s paths crossed in Germany, where Shreya pursued higher education. Their connection deepened, culminating in their decision to marry in Kurukshetra, a city renowned for its association with the Bhagavad Gita. Chris’s family has warmly embraced Indian culture, showing a keen interest in learning Hindi and Punjabi.
Hailing from Kurukshetra, Shreya welcomed Chris and his fifteen-member entourage from Germany. Their love transcended geographical boundaries, culminating in a joyous celebration that surprised many. Chris’s brother David, sister Claudia, sister Zara, brother-in-law Andreas, and friends Pia and Anika were among the guests who travelled to partake in the festivities.
The wedding became a captivating topic of conversation throughout the city. Held three days ago, the celebration saw enthusiastic participation from the guests, who danced to lively Punjabi music.
Chris charmed everyone present with his spirited Bhangra performance on the popular Punjabi song ‘Ek Charkha Gali De Vich Dha Leya…’, dedicated to his bride. Shreya’s parents, Bimal Sharma and Anita Sharma, expressed immense joy and happiness at their daughter’s wedding.
