The investigation into the funding and activities of madrassas running without recognition in Shravasti district has now intensified. The investigation into the operation and source of funding of these 192 madrassas has been handed over to ATS (Anti Terrorism Squad), which will see from where these madrassas are getting financial support.

There are 105 recognized madrassas in the district, which are following the government rules, but the increasing number of unrecognized madrassas has worried the administration. ATS will also focus on where these madrassas are getting financial help from and whether this help is linked to any external source. Minority Welfare Officer Devendra Ram said that the government has appointed ATS to investigate unrecognized madrassas. He says that the administration will provide whatever assistance the ATS requires in the investigation.
Administrative steps and security measures
The administration has also constituted a special investigation team in collaboration with the Minority Department which will inspect the unrecognized madrassas operating in different areas of the district. This step has been taken for the security of the district to ensure that the work of these institutions is going in the right direction.
