Jharkhand minister Mithilesh Thakur answered one call, only to be bombarded with explicit content.
In a shocking incident, Jharkhand minister Mithilesh Thakur made serious allegations involving a sextortion threat that he received from some unknown callers. Reports indicate that Thakur, who serves as the JMM candidate for the Garhwa Assembly seat, fell victim to a troubling incident that unfolded over a series of video calls.
On Wednesday, Thakur received multiple video calls from an unfamiliar number. After ignoring several attempts, he answered one call, only to be bombarded with explicit content. Disturbed, he immediately ended the call. Following this unsettling encounter, the minister began receiving threatening messages from individuals associated with the call, warning him that compromising videos would be shared on social media.
In response to the threats, Thakur stated, “I received repeated video calls on my mobile. After mistakenly answering one, I disconnected it immediately. Now, I am facing threats regarding this incident. I plan to file a police report, as I suspect this may be a tactic from political opponents during the election season. A thorough investigation is essential.”
The situation escalated as Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, during a visit to Garhwa district, took the opportunity to criticise Thakur. He claimed that the price of sand surpassed that of gold, suggesting that Thakur has become embroiled in corruption akin to a predator driven by greed. “Minister Thakur is yhhtrbehaving like a tiger addicted to blood,” Sarma asserted, adding that Jharkhand has witnessed massive financial scandals amounting to thousands of crores in connection with water resources.
