On the occasion of Bhaiya Dooj in the district, worship was performed by the sisters. On Bhai Dooj, which is the last day of the five-day Diwali festival, sisters apply tilak on the forehead of their brothers, while brothers promise to protect their sisters by giving them gifts.

The festival of Bhai Dooj is considered a symbol of brother-sister relationship. On this day, sisters wish for their brother’s long life and happiness and prosperity, while brothers take a pledge to protect their sister. This festival is celebrated on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month and is also known as Yama Dwitiya. Bhai Dooj falls two days after Diwali and the next day after Govardhan Puja.

Brother should do tilak facing north-east direction.

According to mythological belief, on this day sisters should apply tilak to their brothers facing north-east direction. After Tilak, sisters sweeten the mouth of their brothers and then give them coconut and rice. After this, aarti is performed for the brother and wishes for his good luck and long life.
