Meerapur police station of Muzaffarnagar caught an illegal arms manufacturing factory running in a sugarcane field near Bhumma Canal Bridge. Meerapur Police Station Inspector Bablu Singh Verma said that on Saturday evening the police received information that an illegal arms manufacturing factory was running in a sugarcane field near Bhumma Canal Bridge, in which a person was making illegal pistols. Acting on the information, the police cordoned off the said farm and conducted a raid and found a pistol factory running there, in which a young man making an illegal weapon was caught by the police from the spot.
Police recovered two finished pistols of 12 bore, two finished pistols of 315 bore, two finished muskets of 12 bore and two cartridges and several half-finished pistols and equipment for making weapons from the spot. According to the police, during interrogation, the accused revealed his name as Nisar son of Yasin, resident of Bhumma.
Inspector Bablu Singh Verma said that more than half a dozen criminal cases are registered against the accused in Civil Line police station and Mirapur police station of the district. The police, after studying the writings, issued a challan to the accused.
