In Lakhimpur-Kheri, farmers protested strongly against attaching the sugarcane weighing center to Bajaj Group’s mill without their consent.

Hundreds of farmers reached the District Sugarcane Officer’s office and expressed their displeasure. He says that the mills of Bajaj Group do not pay the sugarcane on time, due to which they have to face huge problems.
Farmers allege that the centers of some villages selling sugarcane to Era Khamaria Sugarcane Mill have been linked to the Khambharkheda sugarcane factory. When the farmers got information about this decision, they immediately reached the District Sugarcane Officer’s office. He demanded that the sugarcane weighing center of his village should not be linked to the Khambharkheda factory, as he is already satisfied with the mill in which he is selling sugarcane.

Farmers told that Khambharkheda factory belongs to Bajaj Group and their sugarcane payments for years are pending. District Sugarcane Officer Ved Prakash Singh said that there is area-wise distribution of sugarcane supply in the mills, and the center of some villages has been shifted from the mill of Era Khamaria and attached to the Khambharkheda Bajaj factory, due to which dissatisfaction has increased among the farmers.
Will try to find a solution
The District Sugarcane Officer assured that the problems and demands of the farmers have been conveyed to higher authorities, and efforts will be made to resolve the issue soon. Meanwhile, farmer leaders said that they will continue to fight for their demands until their voices are heard.
