The police have recovered the girl who went missing 6 months ago from Bijri village of Robertsganj Kotwali area of Sonbhadra and arrested the accused of rape. A case was registered against the accused under sections 363, 506, 376 IPC and POCSO Act and he was presented in the court.

A woman from Churk area of Sonbhadra had complained on the CM Jansunwai portal. In which it was told that on the evening of 8 May 2024, his daughter was lured away by Monu resident of Boze police station, Naugarh, Chandauli. The woman alleged that after not getting help from the police station, she took recourse to the court. Following the court order, the police had registered a case under sections 363 and 506 IPC on 25 September 2024.

The court had directed the Robertsganj Kotwali police to recover the victim and arrest the accused immediately. When the aspect of rape came to light during the police investigation, sections of Section 376 and POCSO Act were added. On Sunday, the police team led by outpost in-charge Kamalnayan Dubey recovered the victim safely and arrested the accused Mannu alias Monu (22).
