Halloween sparked excitement around the globe and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, joined the festive spirit at the company’s whimsical “Howl-o-ween” celebration. He shared a glimpse of the event on Instagram by sharing a series of photos. The post featured the company’s beloved costumed canine companions dubbed as “Dooglers”. The photos showcased dogs dressed in creative and entertaining outfits, ranging from hilarious outfits to heroic ensembles.

What really stood out was Pichai’s hilarious costume choice. He wore a simple black T-shirt with the text “Error 404: Costume Not Found” printed on it which poked fun at every tech innovator’s worst nightmare. This witty choice perfectly matched with the occasion’s vibe as he posed with his colleagues during the celebration.

In his Instagram post, Pichai wrote, “Scary cute Dooglers in costume, sea creatures at TGIF….it must be Googleween!”

Before Halloween, Pichai shared his warm wishes for Diwali on Instagram. In a post, he wrote, “Diwali is one of my favourite times of the year…always fun to fill the house with light. Wish those who celebrate a Happy Diwali.” The post also included a delightful photo of a colourful paper lantern adorned with the Google logo.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also got into the Halloween mood by sharing some fun snapshots of his family’s costumes on Facebook. He went all out as the legendary assassin John Wick, a character made famous by Keanu Reeves. Zuckerberg’s sleek black suit and tie paired perfectly with the adorable ballerina costumes worn by his wife, Priscilla Chan and their daughters.

“When your house full of girls decides to be ballerinas, be John Wick,” his playful caption read.

What Is Halloween?

Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31 with origins linked to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. Initially a religious event, this celebration involved lighting bonfires and wearing costumes to keep away ghosts. Over time, Halloween transformed into a fun holiday enjoyed by people of all ages.

Today, children dress up in creative costumes and go trick-or-treating with their friends and collect candy from neighbours. Many people celebrate by throwing themed parties with eerie music, spine-chilling stories and even games that create a fun-loving experience that brings friends and family together. Popular traditions during Halloween include carving pumpkins and hosting scary movie marathons. The colours of Halloween, black and orange, have special meanings. Black signifies the end of summer while orange represents the autumn harvest.
