Actor Darshan Gets Interim Bail InRenukaswamy Murder Case

The Karnataka High Court granted actor Darshan Thoogudeepa interim bail to undergo treatment on October 30 after he was detained on June 11 for his alleged participation in the Renukaswamy murder case. A single-judge bench led by Justice S Vishwajith Shetty granted the actor bail for six weeks. The actor had earlier petitioned the High Court for bail after a Bengaluru sessions court denied him bail in the kidnapping and murder case. On October 29, the court reserved a ruling on the actor’s bail application after hearing lengthy arguments from senior attorney CV Nagesh and State Public Prosecutor P Prasanna Kumar.

Aviation Ministry on Bomb Threats

In response to the multiple bomb threats, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a new mandate: perform a multi-layered examination of threats to establish their gravity. The government has also requested that the credibility of a source be considered when determining whether a threat is ‘specific’ or ‘non-specific’. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has updated its standards to include many new indicators in addition to the ones that are currently used to determine the credibility of a threat. The ministry claims that the actions will reduce the number of strict protocols that must be established when there are 30 to 50 threats per day.

India Launches First Private Military Aircraft

On October 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez launched the Tata Aircraft Complex for C-295 aircraft manufacture in Gujarat’s Vadodara, becoming India’s first private sector final assembly line for military aircraft. The C-295 programme marked an important milestone in India’s “Make in India” defence policy, with 56 aircraft planned, 16 of which were delivered directly by Airbus from Spain and the rest 40 being manufactured in India at Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL).

Taliban’s Prohibits Women From Hearing Each Other’s Voice

Women in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan have been prohibited from “hearing each other’s voice” in yet another attempt to limit basic liberties. According to a report from a Virginia-based Afghan news programme, the new rule prohibits women from praying publicly in front of one another. According to Amu TV, the order was given by Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, the Taliban’s minister for the spread of virtue and the prevention of vice. He advised women to refrain from reciting the Quran aloud when near other women.

Fresh Probe Against Gautam Gambhir In Cheating Case

India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, appears to have gotten himself into new problems. The former opening batter is now in Mumbai with the Indian team for the third Test against New Zealand, which began on November 1. A Delhi court has overturned Gambhir and others’ dismissal in a case involving alleged fraud against flat buyers. According to PTI, special Judge Vishal Gogne overturned a magisterial court judgement, citing ‘inadequate expression of mind’ in deciding the claims against Gambhir.

ISRO Launches India’s First Analogue Space Mission

On November 1, ISRO announced that its analogue space mission had taken off from Leh in Ladakh. This project will model life in an interplanetary habitat to address the issues of a base station beyond Earth, according to a space agency tweet on X. “A collaborative effort by Human Spaceflight Centre, ISRO, AAKA Space Studio, University of Ladakh, IIT Bombay, and supported by Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, this mission will simulate life in an interplanetary habitat to tackle the challenges of a base station beyond Earth,” the statement said.
