Under Shivli police station area of Kanpur Dehat, three robbers riding a bike looted Brij Bala and Mangalsutra on the pretext of asking for help from a couple. After the incident, the robbers fled from the spot, while the couple immediately informed the police. Police registered a case and searched for the robbers.

About six months ago, Rakesh Kumar, resident of Arshadpur village, was going to Hajirpur Talgram, Kannauj on a bike with his wife Renu. Meanwhile, three persons stopped his motorcycle between Udaitpur Kurmi Nivada on Ramganga canal road and asked for help citing running out of petrol. Then two youths who came from behind pounced on Renu, snatched Brij Bala and Mangalsutra from her ears and ran away. After this incident, the police had registered a case of robbery against three accused.
One accused involved in robbery arrested
Police said that on specific information from an informer early in the morning, Sandeep Kumar, an accused involved in the robbery incident, was arrested near Pandu river. Police station in-charge Shivli Harmeet Singh said that an accused has been arrested in this case, who will be presented before the court as per rules and sent to jail. Police say that soon other robbers will also be caught.
