Nearly every household faces challenges with purity in stored water, especially when it comes to water tank cleaning. Whether a tank holds 10,000 litres or just 500 litres, cleaning it regularly is essential, yet not an easy task. Failure to do so can lead to the growth of fungus and bacteria, contaminating the water.

In such cases, the water becomes unsafe for consumption and can even cause infections and allergic reactions from skin contact alone. With these issues in mind, experts have suggested a certified and straightforward solution to keep tank water safe for longer periods.

Jamun Tree Benefits

Medicinal plant expert Ravikant Pandey, who has 12 years experience in the field, explains that every part of the Jamun tree – from its fruit and seeds to its wood and leaves – has numerous beneficial properties. These include antibacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-allergic, and anti-diabetic properties. This is why using Jamun, whether for cleaning teeth or in other applications, is widely considered beneficial for health.

Phytochemicals Protect Water from Contamination

Pandey states that phytochemicals primarily found in jamun wood, also known as Syzygium Cumini Skeels, are highly effective in eliminating bacteria and fungus in water, helping maintain its purity over time.

Placing a piece of jamun wood in the water tank can prevent the growth of fungi and bacteria. This will keep the water fresh and uncontaminated for at least a decade.

A Simple Solution for Water Tank Purity

Expert suggests a straightforward method to prevent water contamination in tanks. Thoroughly clean a piece of jamun wood and place it in the water tank. It is recommended to use at least 200 grams of jamun wood for a 1,000-litre water tank.

While jamun leaves can also serve this purpose, jamun wood is more durable and resistant to rotting in water, making it the preferred option. Adopting this simple solution can greatly reduce concerns about tank cleaning and help ensure water freshness for a long time.
