During the Jaipur concert, Diljit Dosanjh invited a Marwari fan wearing a traditional pagdi on stage and their interaction won hearts of social media users.
After a successful performance in Delhi, Diljit Dosanjh wowed fans in Jaipur with his Dil-Luminati Tour on Sunday. During the concert, a special moment was captured when Diljit invited a Marwari fan wearing a traditional pagdi on stage and their interaction won hearts of social media users. Dressed in an all-white outfit, Diljit complimented the fan, stating that the pagdi is a symbol of pride. He also celebrated India’s rich diversity by saying that we have cultures, languages and cuisines, which changes every few hours. Following their conversation, Diljit started singing a line from his popular song, Ishq Mitaye from the Chamkila movie and did bhangra on stage with the fan.
Before dancing, Diljit said, “Yeh pagdi hamari shaan hai. (This turban is a symbol of pride). This is the beauty of our country, every 2, 3 or 4 hours, our language changes, our food changes. This is the beauty of our country and wherever we come from, some from Jaipur, some from Gujarat, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, we all love each other and we all love this country together.” In an unexpected twist, The Lover singer added his own spin to his famous catchphrase, as he said, “Mera bhai Marwari agayaa oye.”
Before his concert in Jaipur, Diljit Dosanjh posted a video showing himself receiving a royal welcome in the Pink City. In the footage, he arrived at the palace in a carriage, greeted by members of the Royal Family. As he entered, rose petals were showered on him and local performers entertained the crowd with dance. Sharing the video on Instagram, the singer wrote, “BEAUTIFUL PINK CITY JAIPUR RAJASTHAN. It was a Beautiful Experience. Dal Bati Churma khaa ke aana baut bhangra honey wala hai aaj shaam ko.”
Before kickstarting his Dil-Luminati Tour in India, Diljit Dosanjh travelled to various countries around the world. Following his performances in Delhi and Jaipur, the singer is scheduled to perform in several cities, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata and Mumbai. The tour will wrap up in Guwahati on December 29.
Other than his concert, Diljit Dosanjh is set to start filming for his upcoming movie, No Entry 2, where he will be sharing the screen with Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor.
