The film, inspired by the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was martyred in a 2014 encounter in Shopian, Kashmir, has enjoyed a successful opening and is well-received by fans. Major Mukund Varadarajan, who received the Ashoka Chakra from the Indian government for his bravery, is portrayed in this film, with fans giving Sai Pallavi high praise for her role. Post the success of the film, Sai Pallavi appeared for an interview with Behindwoods, reflecting on her industry experiences.
Sai Pallavi shared that during the shooting of NGK (Nandha Gopalan Kumaran) in 2019, she considered leaving the set. Directed by Selvaraghavan, the film stars Suriya and Sai Pallavi. She recalled feeling nervous and uncomfortable in the early days of filming, to the point where she thought about quitting. “Selvaraghavan wouldn’t say anything to us, no feedback, no pointers on whether I was doing well,” she explained. “I felt like I should leave the set. But Dhanush’s words gave me strength,” she added.
At that time, Maari 2 makers had just released its song, and Dhanush called to check in on her. She told him she was struggling and wanted to leave, but Dhanush encouraged her, explaining that Selvaraghavan tests his actors initially without giving feedback and that things would improve. His support helped her stay on, and the next day, Selvaraghavan began guiding them, bringing new enthusiasm to the set.
