A large number of people have observed fast on Chhath Puja in the capital Lucknow. Chhath Puja is performed by building Chhath altars on the banks of river Gomti and in many other areas of the city. After Nahay Khay, a large number of people made Kharna Prasad in their homes on Wednesday.

The 36-hour Mahavrat started after eating Kharna’s Prasad. Chhath fast is being observed by Ajay Gupta’s family in Vipul Khand of Lucknow for the last 14 years. This fast is being observed regularly by four members of the family.
Gauri Gupta told that she started observing this fast after four-five years of marriage. Today I made other major prasad along with kheer through cow milk and jaggery. Keep a fast for your wedding day. During this time many other relatives are also present nearby to receive the Prasad of Kharna.
It is believed that Kharna is the most important day of Chhath Puja. Chhathi Maiya arrives on this day. Ruby Gupta told that she too has been in Lucknow for 20 years and has been celebrating Chhath festival continuously for about 15 years.
Let us tell you that apart from Laxman Mela Ghat, Mankameshwar Upvan, Kudiya Ghat of Lucknow, the great festival of Chhath is being celebrated with pomp and show at many other important places. On Thursday evening, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, other cabinet ministers will also offer water to the setting sun.
