Village resident Ramesh Kumar was walking outside his house with his seven-year-old son Deepak. Then suddenly the leopard came and pounced on Deepak. Without wasting a moment, without caring for his own life, he pounced on the leopard and freed his son from its clutches. During this time the leopard hid in the sugarcane field, but Deepak got injured. He was immediately admitted to the Community Health Center, Nighasan.
Confirming the incident, South Nighasan Forest Range officer Gajendra Singh said that the child has been injured in the leopard attack and is undergoing treatment. He has appealed to the local people to remain alert. Also, cages will be installed near the village to catch leopards, so that such incidents can be prevented in future.
