Angered by the increasing road accidents, local people sat on a strike on Friday at Dharauli bridge in Aspur Devsara police station area of Pratapgarh.

The villagers, troubled by frequent accidents due to the narrow condition of the culvert, demanded widening of the culvert. Villagers say that people are losing their lives every day due to the negligence of the department, and the administration is not ready to listen to their pleas.
Teenager dies in Bolero accident, many injured Let us tell you that on Thursday night, a Bolero vehicle went out of control and collided with a tree on this bridge. In the accident, a teenage girl traveling in the vehicle died on the spot, while several others were seriously injured. The injured were immediately taken to CHC Amargarh, where their first aid is continuing. According to doctors, the condition of some still remains critical.
Demands raised several times, no action taken Villagers say that several requests have been made to the department officials regarding expansion of the police station. The Youth Anti Corruption Organization also raised the demand for widening of the culvert several times, but the department fell on deaf ears.
Villagers say that this culvert has now become a black spot. Warned that if their demands were not met in time, they would be forced to carry out violent agitation.
