Christopher Nolan’s new film has added Zendaya and Anne Hathaway to the cast, joining previously confirmed stars Tom Holland and Matt Damon. The film, which Nolan is both directing and writing, is set for release on July 17, 2026. Details about the plot are still under wraps. This marks a reunion for Nolan and Hathaway, who previously collaborated on Interstellar (2014) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
Earlier this year, Anne Hathaway thanked Christopher Nolan for giving her a chance in Interstellar after she faced online criticism for winning an Oscar for Les Miserables. She shared in an interview with Vanity Fair that many in the industry avoided offering her roles due to the negative online attention. She had said, “A lot of people wouldn’t give me roles because they were so concerned about how toxic my identity had become online. I had an angel in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of the best films that I’ve been a part of … And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.”
Anne Hathaway’s upcoming films include Paper, directed by James Gray, Flowervale Street by David Robert Mitchell, Mother Mary, and Princess Diaries 3 from Disney. Zendaya, on the other hand, has had an impressive year with two major films: Challengers and Dune: Part Two.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi masterpiece Interstellar is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the makers are all set to rerelease the film in theatres across Imax screens on December 6. As per the announcement, Imax will showcase the film in both 70mm and digital formats for a limited one-week run in select cities across states such as New York, California, Texas, Arizona, Indiana, and Florida. Interstellar, which originally premiered on November 5, 2014, grossed around $730 million globally, further earning five Academy Award nominations.
