Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again has been receiving love from fans after its release on Diwali and is a successful addition to the filmmaker’s cop universe. This unique cinematic universe includes films such as Singham, Singham Returns, Sooryanvanshi and Simmba. It is indeed difficult for fans to choose their favourite character, but it seems the filmmaker has made a clear choice. He recently revealed the ‘most lovable’ character from the realm is Ranveer Singh’s Simmba. He also stated that when he viewed the final edit of Singham Again, he knew Simmba’s entry would take the film to another level.
In an interview with Mashable India, Rohit Shetty mentioned, “I think the most lovable is Simmba.” Sharing about why the character is so special to him and its impact on Singham Again, the filmmaker stated, “Aesa nahi hai ki it was a surprise for us. Jab hum ne final edit bhi dekha toh it was like jab second half Simmba aayega toh film alag level pe chalega (It wasn’t a surprise for us. When we saw the final edit, we knew that when Simmba entered in the second half, the film would be elevated to another level).”
During the conversation, the interviewer pointed out that Simmba was given some of the best lines in Singham Again and Rohit Shetty jokingly stated, “Woh mera thoda favorite bhi hai (He is my favorite too).”
In another interview with Pinkvilla, Rohit Shetty answered fan questions, including one asking whether Simmba would make an appearance in the Golmaal universe. However, Rohit quipped, “That will become too much. Mere pe taras khao (Have mercy on me). This universe coming here, that universe going there. Simmba will happen, obviously; it’s one of the most loved characters in the cop universe.”
Simmba starred Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao, a police officer with a shaky moral compass who undergoes a life-changing incident. The film also starred Sara Ali Khan as the lead.
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty’s newly released film Singham Again is doing well at the box office. The cop drama stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.
