Session on fractures in Trauma Surgery Conference of KGMU.

If a rib fracture occurs in a trauma patient, it can prove to be extremely fatal. If two ribs are fractured during an accident, there is a risk of damage to the lungs. This is why such patients should be treated by trauma experts only.

Another important thing is that vigilance is very important even while carrying seriously injured patients. Many times, a little carelessness between the accident spot and the patient reaching the hospital can prove costly. If the patient is not carried properly, his injury may become more serious. In some cases, it has also been seen that even while bringing the patient to the hospital, fractures occur in some parts of the already injured body. This is why training for handling trauma patients is very important.

This was said by Dr. Sandeep Tiwari, Chairman of KGMU Trauma Surgery Department. He was speaking in the third day session of the Trauma Surgery Conference on Sunday.

Deputy CM also attended this conference on Saturday.

Dealing with drink and drive still a challenge

According to Dr. Sandeep Tiwari, Chairman of KGMU Trauma Surgery Department, mobile phones and drunken driving are the biggest reasons for road accidents. Trauma related training should be mandatory for all doctors. It is not possible to send every patient to the trauma center on time. In such a situation, if they get first aid, people’s lives can be saved. But even today the practice of drink and drive is proving fatal. Many times, injury to the kidney causes the problem of hypertension. This is more dangerous than normal hypertension. If detected on time, its treatment is possible.

Focus on timely treatment

Dr. Sameer Mishra said, there is a need to further improve the condition of medical colleges and trauma centers at the district level to provide better treatment to the patients. So that the patients can get first aid and tests immediately after the incident. From time to time, doctors and paramedical staff should be given training in trauma management.

Health Minister inaugurated on Saturday

Earlier on Saturday, the program was formally inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak. Trauma is a major health problem, which mainly affects youth, he said. The government is committed to providing all possible assistance to the trauma teams. Special guest Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh said, it is very important to provide training to MBBS students and young doctors at the right time.
