Shami will make a comeback from Ranji Trophy: He has been away from the field for the last one year due to injury; Bengal faces Madhya Pradesh

Shami played his last international match in the ODI World Cup final against Australia on 19 November 2023.

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is ready to return to the field after almost a year. He has been included in Bengal’s squad for the fifth round of Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Bengal team will face Madhya Pradesh in Indore from 13th November.

Shami will return to cricket after about a year with this match. He has been away from the field since the ODI World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad last year.

Shami was expected to be selected in the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Earlier, Shami’s fitness was being closely monitored ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, although he was not selected in the squad for the five-Test series. Just before that team was selected, Shami had said that he hoped to fly to Australia after playing one or two Ranji Trophy matches for Bengal.

Last match played on 19th November Shami played his last international match in the ODI World Cup final against Australia on 19 November 2023. Shami went to England in January this year and got his ankle surgery done. He spent the last several months undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. He has played 64 test matches for India. Shami has 229 test wickets in his name.

Australia could not beat India since 2014-15 The Australian team has not been able to beat India in the last 4 series. The team’s last win was in the 2014–15 season. Then the Australian team captained by Smith defeated India 2-1. After that, the Indian team has won all four series.
