Action Replay! Sanju Samson Falls For A Duck To Marco Jansen Again In IND Vs SA 3rd T20I – News18

Sanju Samson feel for a second duck in a row after scoring back-to-back hundreds.
Sanju Samson was dismissed for a duck in the third T20I of their four-match series between India and South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Wednesday.
This is the second duck in a row for Sanju after scoring back-to-back hundreds and just like the last match, it was Marco Jansen who got his wicket.
Jansen got Samson for the second time in a row in this series as he angled it across the batter, on a back of a length, around off. Sanju hopped to get on top of the bounce but the ball skid off the deck and came onto hom quicker than he expected. It stayed low as well as it went under his bat hit the off stump.
The opener thus extended his record for the most ducks in a calendar year by an Indian batter. Virat Kohli had three ducks in 2024 as Rohit Sharma also had the same number in 2018.
Samson has now been dismissed without scoring any run in a T20I match on six occasions. The overall record of scoring most ducks for India in T20Is is in the name of former India T20I captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit, who is the most capped player in T20I history and also holds the record for scoring most runs, failed to open his account in 12 out of 159 matches played during his 17-year-long T20I career.
Legendary Virat Kohli, who also called time on his T20I career after India’s win in the T20 World Cup 2024 final, is second on the list with seven ducks in 125 matches.
A total of four batters—Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka), Soumya Sarkar (Bangladesh), Paul Stirling (Ireland), and Kevin Irakoze (Rwanda)—have been dismissed without scoring a run in a T20I match on as many as 13 occasions, which is a world record of most ducks in the shortest format of the game.
