Bahraich DM Monica Rani held a meeting in the Collectorate auditorium to review the paddy procurement work. Officials said that the handling contractor is not providing any facilities related to the handling work. After which he visited the district of purchasing agencies.

The DM said that action should be taken against the concerned if they do not contribute within three days. In the meeting, it was informed by the District Food Marketing Officer that most of the in-charges of paddy purchasing centers of PCF, PCU and UPSS organization are not registering their presence online at the centre.
Taking strict cognizance of this, the District Magistrate directed that all the center in-charges should compulsorily be present at the center by 09:00 am every day. Any kind of laxity in this regard would be unforgivable.
There should be no inconvenience The DM directed all concerned that farmers should not face any inconvenience regarding procurement. Payment for purchased produce should be made on time. No farmer should be unnecessarily harassed in the name of quality. The objective of quality analysis of paddy should be positive and not negative.
He instructed all the purchasing center in-charges to maintain friendly and cordial behavior with the farmers. Complete transparency should be maintained while purchasing. If the farmer coming to the center has any problem, it should be resolved immediately.
The District Magistrate said that if any kind of irregularity is found regarding procurement at any purchasing centre, strict action will be taken against the purchasing center in-charge as well as the district manager of the concerned purchasing agency.
