On the auspicious occasion of Devotthan Ekadashi in Agra, the birth anniversary of Shyam Baba was celebrated with enthusiasm at Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple located in Jeevani Mandi. Thousands of devotees queued up to have darshan of Baba. Shouts of Baba’s name kept echoing in the temple premises.

As soon as the doors opened on Tuesday, crowds of devotees started reaching the temple. This sequence continued till 12 o’clock at night. Grand decorations were done in the temple premises. Fifty-six divine offerings were made. Devotees also burst fireworks at night. Baba was beautifully decorated with 101 garlands of local and foreign flowers. The whole premises was smelling of perfume. Toffees, chocolates and toys were distributed to the children visiting the temple.

Temple Trust President Dinesh Aggarwal said that like every year on Devotthan Ekadashi, this year too the birth anniversary of Khatu Naresh has been celebrated with devotion. Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal, Treasurer Vikas Bansal said that a bhajan evening was organized in the night to praise Baba Shyam.

Devotees danced to the hymns

Bhajan singers Anup Goyal and Prabal Goyal forced the devotees to dance by singing ‘Mere Baba’s Birthday has come, the temple has been beautifully decorated’. Devotees encouraged the singers by clapping on every bhajan. Vipin Bansal and Sanjay Aggarwal told that devotees from every corner of the city have come to see Baba. On the birth anniversary of Khatu Naresh, makeup service was done by Mahesh Pharma, costume service by Krishna, perfume service by Suchita Agarwal, flower bungalow service by Mahesh Pharma, toy and decoration service by Shri Shyam Sevak Samiti, lighting service by Subhash Chandra Agarwal at Jeevan Mandi temple.

Traffic diversion at Jeevan Mandi

In view of the crowd of faith gathered at Khatu Shyam Temple, traffic diversion was done at Yamuna Kinara Road and Jeevani Mandi intersection. During the event, entry of heavy vehicles on this route was prohibited. They were sent to their destination via the new bridge.
