Videos of social media users imitating Donald Trump’s dance moves to the YMCA song are going viral on the internet.
Donald Trump is back in action! Elected as the 47th US President, he marked an extraordinary comeback after a nail-biting race against Kamala Harris. While his re-election itself became a talking point on the internet, another interesting addition came around with Trump’s signature dance moves to the classic hit, YMCA. From his campaign rally to addressing his supporters after winning the elections, the Republican leader did not forget to display his unique style of mixing entertainment with politics.
Speaking of his moves, Trump simply moves his hands and legs in sync with the music, something that inspired dozens of social media users, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, to take notes. Musk shared a video of the 78-year-old’s viral dance moves and wrote, “MAKE THE TRUMP DANCE GO VIRAL.”
Another user shared a video from his media address, praising his fun side. “No matter your political views, you must admit that Trump’s little dance is hilarious,” the caption read.
A section of users performed their own versions, copying his hilarious moves in front of the camera. A woman posing in front of the Trump Tower could be seen enacting his moves. “This little dance is not the same if you do it in front of Trump Tower. She deserves to go viral!” the video’s caption read.
A user shared how Trump added a new golf ball-hitting move to his performance.
It’s an older version of the dance. In the newly released version, you must do the Golf ball hitting move 😁 and then end the dance. pic.twitter.com/UWCKiRgObS— Arunudoy Bhattacharjee (@ArunudoyB) November 12, 2024
Another video, seemingly from a celebratory party after Trump’s election victory, shows a group of young people dancing in front of the camera. “Trump is the first president to invent a new type of dance,” the caption read.
The newly-elected president’s dance moves also inspired the Drake Bulldogs’ Trey Radocha to do the same for his touchdown celebration. After scoring on an 11-yard pass, Trey instantly got up and performed the move at the end.
Similarly, San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa also celebrated on the field with the Trump-inspired dance. The president even took notice of the same, giving a shout-out to Bosa on Truth Social.
With similar videos going viral, it appears Donald Trump has indeed inspired a new dance trend.
