For the unversed, the Rajkumar Periasamy directorial is based on the life of the late Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Army officer from Tamil Nadu. The celebrated officer sacrificed his life in the battle against terrorism to protect the nation.
It has been well-received by the audience but also faced criticism, particularly over the portrayal of Varadarajan’s identity. According to him, military-related films require official consent to ensure accurate and respectful portrayals and the Sivakarthikeyan starrer was approved as early as October 1.
Periasamy further stated that his role as a director is to ensure that the film aligns with social responsibility and follows ethical standards.
The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, and Rahul Bose in important roles. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India. The film is an adaptation of the book India’s Most Fearless by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
