The third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives brought new faces from Delhi into the glitzy world of Mumbai’s elite. Among the fresh entries was Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, daughter of the late Rishi Kapoor and sister of Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor. This season introduced viewers not only to the lavish lifestyles of the famous Bollywood wives but also to a playful dynamic between Riddhima and Maheep Kapoor, wife of actor Sanjay Kapoor. One revelation that had fans talking was Riddhima’s childhood crush on Sanjay Kapoor.
In one of the episodes, Riddhima shared the humorous confession with Maheep, saying, “Maheep, you know, growing up, I had the hugest crush on Sanjay.” This playful admission caught everyone’s attention, including Neelam Kothari, who reacted with a surprise, “What are you saying?” Riddhima laughed and continued, “I am telling you, my first crush! I was this high, and I used to call him uncle back then. What do I call him now?” Maheep immediately responded, “Don’t you dare call me aunty. I will beat the sh*t out of you!” Speaking to the camera, Maheep added, “It’s cute and sweet. Riddhima has a great taste in men.”
However, the playful banter didn’t sit well with everyone. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Riddhima opened up about how some viewers took her lighthearted comment too seriously, trolling her for calling Maheep “aunty” on the show.
Reflecting on the backlash, Riddhima explained, “If someone is writing seriously that Kalyani (Saha Chawla), you know, you are looking old—that’s a serious comment. But when somebody’s pulling a friend’s leg, like I did with Maheep, it’s different. Maheep and Sanjay were actually originally my chacha’s friends, right? So if I had called her aunty, it was all in fun. Friends don’t do that? They pull each other’s leg, no? But people were like, ‘No, why are you calling Maheep aunty?’ Arrey bhai, have you never joked with your friends? That’s so stupid. Main toh muh pe bolti hu and Maheep tells me, ‘I’ll whack you.’”
