Dev Diwali was celebrated with great pomp in Agra also. A program was organized by the Municipal Corporation at Hathi Ghat. 51 thousand lamps were lit here. People associated with voluntary organizations helped in this.

The Municipal Corporation had started preparations for Dev Diwali from Friday evening itself. The lamps were lit before it got dark. As soon as it got dark, mustard oil was poured into them. Later these were burnt en masse.

Municipal Commissioner Ankit Khandelwal said that 51 thousand lamps have been lit to connect the city residents with Indian culture. Not only this, Dev Diwali has been organized to make people aware about cleanliness and Yamuna.
