ICC sought written reply from BCCI: Said- Give reason for not sending Indian team to Pakistan for Champions Trophy

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sought a written reason from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not sending the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Pakistan is scheduled to host the Champions Trophy in February 2025, but Team India has refused to go to Pakistan. After this, there are also reports of holding the tournament in UAE and South Africa.
According to the report of Pakistani channel Geo News, ANI wrote, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested ICC to give them a copy of India’s reply. A source told Geo News, after receiving the written reply, Pakistan can ask for proof of reasons, after which ICC will have to take the final decision regarding India.
PCB wrote to ICC – Why can’t Pakistan come to India? Three days ago, Pakistan Cricket Board had sought answers from ICC regarding Team India not going to Pakistan. According to the report of Cricbuzz, the PCB spokesperson had said that if India and Pakistan are not coming due to security issues, then the teams of New Zealand, England and Australia have visited Pakistan recently. Then why is Team India facing problems?
Pakistan refused hybrid model BCCI wants Team India’s matches to be held in UAE or Dubai. But, PCB has already made it clear that it will not conduct the Champions Trophy in the hybrid model. Hybrid model means that in the Champions Trophy, the matches against India should be played at neutral venues and the rest of the tournament should be played in Pakistan.
India did not go to Pakistan in Asia Cup, hybrid model was adopted
India defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final of the Asia Cup.
The Asia Cup was played in September last year. Pakistan was given the opportunity to host it, but India refused to go to Pakistan. After this, ACC conducted this tournament in hybrid model. All of India’s matches were played in Sri Lanka and the rest of the tournament took place in Pakistan. Pakistan played its match against India in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan team came to India for ODI World Cup Pakistan team came to India last year to play the ODI World Cup. Then the match between India and Pakistan was played in Ahmedabad on 14 October. The Indian team won this match by 7 wickets. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer had scored fifties. Jasprit Bumrah became the player of the match. He took 2 wickets for 19 runs.

- Pakistan’s last tour of India 2013: Pakistan last toured India in 2012-13. In that tour, a bilateral series of 3 ODIs and 2 T20 matches was played. Pakistan won the ODI series 2-1, while the T-20 series was tied at 1-1.
India is not going to Pakistan due to terrorist attack in Mumbai The Indian team has not toured Pakistan since 2007–08. After the terrorist attacks on Mumbai in 2008, the Indian government refused to play cricket in Pakistan. Since then both the teams play only in ICC and ACC tournaments. Since 2013, both the teams have played 13 ODIs and 8 T20 matches at neutral venues. There was also a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Pakistan during 2009.
