Reflecting on how the recipe has been passed down through generations, Nimrat Kaur expressed her love for Kada Prasad.

Nimrat Kaur celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti by sharing a heartfelt Instagram post, which featured a recipe for Kada Prasad—a traditional dessert offered on this auspicious day. She revealed learning the recipe from her mother and fondly reminisced about visiting Gurudwaras in Delhi with her family, participating in seva to honour Sikhism’s founder.

The fun clip opens with Nimrat Kaur saying, “Home is where the Halwa is. Every Gurpurab, I make halwa at home, which is called Kada Prasad in the Gurdwara. My Nanu used to make halwa in the Gurdwara for many years. So, my mother learned from him, and I learned from my mom. So, let’s wing it. I will start with making Chashni.” Then, the actress is seen explaining the step-by-step recipe while also carefully mixing ingredients, adding her personal touch by sharing some childhood anecdotes.

Reflecting on how the traditional recipe has been passed down through generations, Nimrat Kaur expressed her love for Kada Prasad, adding that her mother would prepare the timeless dish on the occasion of Gurpurab to celebrate the birth of Guru Nanak. While preparing the Prasad, Nimrat Kaur also placed an order of coffee for herself, humorously telling the delivery partner on the phone, “Halwa order karna ho to ap mujhe kar sakte hein (For halwa, place an order with us).” The additional fun elements in the video showcase how it took her an eternity to prepare the halwa to add to the intrigue of the clip, making it simply hilarious. She also added pious water called ‘amrit’ to the halwa for blessing, honouring her Sikh traditions. At the end of the video, she is seen sipping on her coffee and showcasing her freshly cooked halwa and we must say, it looked delicious.

Nimrat Kaur has reportedly been signed for Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming war film Sky Force, slated for release next year. Helmed by acclaimed filmmakers Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the film was officially announced on October 2, 2023.
