Ravi Bishnoi won the fielding medal for the fourth T20I as as Suryakumar Yadav revealed Tilak Varma as the winner of the impact fielder of the series award.
India won the last match of the T20 series against South Africa by 135 runs to clinch the four-match series 3-1.
India batted first and put 283 runs on the board with centuries from Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson in the match. Chasing the target, South Africa were bowled out for 148 runs in 18.2 overs.
After the series ended, Ravi Bishnoi was presented with the ‘best fielder’ award in the fourth T20 match. He had taken a brilliant catch of South African captain Aiden Markram off Arshdeep Singh’s bowling, for which he was given a medal.
Tilak Verma got the ‘impact fielder of the series award’. There were three contenders for the award, which included captain Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma.
But it was up to SKY to reveal who won this medal in a rather special manner.
The captain had the name of the winner written and after he opened the chit, walked over to Sanju Samson, shook hands with him and told him that Tilak Verma had won!
All the players and support staff started laughing as coach VVS Laxman put the medal on Tilak.
The young star won hearts by repeating Rinku Singh’s catchy one-liner: ‘God’s Plan’.
BCCI shared the video.

Earlier, praising Tilak Varma’s recent feat of scoring consecutive T20I centuries, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav said this is the correct time for a youngster like him to bat at number three, citing Virat Kohli as an example.
“It was actually running in my mind that there has been a time when one man has batted consistently at number three and done wonders for India. So this was a perfect situation, perfect opportunity for a young guy and definitely someone like him, showing a lot of promise.”
“We both actually spoke to each other and said, ‘I think it’s the perfect time for someone like you to bat at number three, take that responsibility, not only now, but going forward as well’, and he just walked the talk. I mean, the way he batted at Supersport Park and also here, it was incredible and I hope he continues to do the same things, same way, not only in T20 cricket but for all formats for India,” said Suryakumar at the conclusion of the series.
