Byeon Woo Seok’s Agency Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Posts And Online Hate – News18

Byeon Woo Seok’s agency released a statement stating that it has taken legal action against malicious slander.

Korean actor Byeon Woo Seok quickly gained popularity among K-drama fans after his role in the romantic comedy Lovely Runner. However, since rising to fame, the actor has faced intense scrutiny on the internet, with some individuals spreading false rumours and attempting to tarnish his reputation. To combat this online harassment and protect the actor, his agency, Varo Entertainment, has issued a statement confirming that they have taken strict legal action against those responsible for spreading malicious rumours and damaging Byeon Woo Seok’s image.

According to a report by Soompi, on Friday, November 15, Byeon Woo Seok’s agency released a statement, a part of which read, “We would like to thank all the fans who give actor Byeon Woo Seok their love and interest. Recently, Varo Entertainment decided that in order to protect the rights of our actor, Byeon Woo Seok, we could no longer ignore the malicious slander and insults being made against Byeon Woo Seok, and we took legal action. We are updating you on the related proceedings.”

Further, in their statement, the actor’s agency mentioned that it was monitoring such malicious posts on its own, and even the actor’s fans have made several reports on the matter. The agency gathered evidence regarding criminal acts, including hate posts, defamation of character, and sexual harassment, among others. After getting hold of sufficient evidence, Byeon Woo Seok’s agency confirmed taking a legal route against the perpetrators through a legal representative.

Varo Entertainment emphasised that they will not tolerate such malicious slander against their actor and will continue to respond to it with strong legal action.

Their statement further read: “Our agency will not sit back and watch such criminal acts [occur], and we will respond with strong legal action, without any settlements or leniency, so that they can receive just punishment. Once again, we are letting you know that Varo Entertainment will continue to regularly monitor and take legal action against malicious criminal acts against our actors, and we will do our utmost to protect our actors’ rights and honour in the future as well.”

Speaking of the 33-year-old actor’s work front, he had done quite a few memorable projects before he was catapulted to fame with Lovely Runner, co-starring Kim Hye Yoon. Byeon Woo Seok, who made his on-screen debut in 2016, has starred in Record of Youth, Welcome to Waikiki 2, 20th Century Girl, Moonshine, and Strong Girl Nam-Soon, among others.
