Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak reached Jhansi Medical College at 5 am on Saturday. He spoke to the media after an hour-long inspection.
A fire broke out at Maharani Laxmibai Government Medical College in Jhansi on Friday night. 10 children died in the accident. 39 children were taken out by breaking the window. When the five children were not found till Saturday morning, the family created a ruckus outside the medical college.

Six hours after the accident, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak reached Jhansi Medical College at 5 am on Saturday. Brajesh Pathak spoke to the media. He said- DNA test will be done for those children who are not identified. What caused the fire? How did you find it? Due to whose carelessness did it happen? Its investigation is going on. As soon as the investigation report is received, action will be taken against the careless ones.

Challenge to reach the families of those who are not identified Brajesh Pathak said- It is a very sad incident. People present there told that the fire broke out due to sparking in the oxygen concentrator. One staff member’s leg has been burnt. There is a challenge to reach the families of those who have not been identified yet. Providing proper treatment to the surviving children is a priority.

Six children went home with their mother On the question of Akhilesh Yadav’s tweet, Pathak said that there should be no politics on this. Currently 17 children are undergoing treatment. Four were sent to private hospitals, three children were sent to other hospitals. One has gone to his home in Lalitpur. A child has gone to Mauranipur. Six children have gone home with their mother. 10 children died. 7 have been identified. Three could not be identified. Six family members are unable to be contacted. Their phones are switched off.
Brajesh Pathak said- There were a total of 49 children in the ward. The ward boy opened the fire fighting cylinders and started them. But, due to oxygen the fire flared up rapidly. The staff and family members together rescued the children and saved them.
After the fire, the bodies of the children were taken out by breaking the windows.
We will take action as soon as we get the investigation report. Brajesh Pathak said- The incident is very unfortunate. The government has taken it very seriously. We are identifying the children along with all the family members. Orders have been given for a high level investigation into the incident. The first investigation will be done at the government level, which will be done by the Health Department. The second investigation will be done from the police administration and district level. The fire department team will also be involved in this. The third inquiry will be a magisterial inquiry. In every investigation, the reasons for the incident will be found out, we will put the reasons before the public.

Preliminary report will come in 24 hours Brajesh Pathak said- We will fix responsibility for the level at which negligence was found. Will take strict action. We will not leave anyone. The entire government stands with the children and their families. We are in constant touch with the doctors and staff of the medical college. Principal Secretary Health has also come along.
He said- Prima facie what came to light from the staff is that everyone rescued the children very bravely. Family members also helped. All the mothers and sisters who were in the ward were saved. A fire safety audit was conducted here in February. A mock drill took place in June. The preliminary report will come in 24 hours. After this, as soon as we get the magisterial report, we will take action.
