The thief had knowledge of where the jewelery was kept.

Sanjay Kumar Gupta, who lives in Anand Apartment near Kalyanpur Guba Garden Crossing, is a dealer of packaging machines. Sanjay told that on Friday he had gone to his ancestral residence Vijay Nagar with his family to listen to the story of Satyanarayan. When I returned home late at night from Vijayanagar, I found the main gate of the flat open. On entering inside, the cupboard of the master bedroom was also found open and all the stuff was scattered. Thieves stole gold and silver jewelery and cash worth Rs 20 lakh from a bag kept in the cupboard. On information, police and forensic team of Kalyanpur police station arrived to investigate.

Kalyanpur police station in-charge Sudhir Kumar said that in the preliminary investigation, there is suspicion of someone close to committing the theft. Because the flat was opened with a duplicate key and only jewelery and cash were stolen. No other part of the house has been explored. Investigation is being done. Soon the theft will be revealed and the accused will be sent to jail.

Jewelery was taken out from the locker on Chhath Puja

Businessman Sanjay Gupta told that he had taken out jewelery from the locker for Chhath Puja. After Chhath Puja was over, she put all the jewelery in a bag and kept it in the cupboard. The clever thieves took away the jewelery even before it could be deposited in the locker again. The family members also suspect someone close to them of theft.
