In a shocking incident, a woman’s body was found stuffed inside a suitcase lying abandoned on the Delhi-Lucknow Highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district on Saturday.
The suitcase was spotted by commuters on the highway’s service road near the Nizampur area in Nagar Kotwali, NDTV reported citing the police.
The police found the body with injury marks all over when the suitcase was unzipped. Though the identity of the deceased has not be established yet, it is believed that the woman was aged between 25 and 30 years.
As soon as the police received the information, they rushed to the spot along with forensic experts. The area around the suitcase was cordoned off as investigators began their probe. Apart from the woman’s body, the suitcase also contained a few articles of clothing.
The woman’s injuries indicate that she could have died around a day prior to her body’s discovery, ASP Vineet Bhatnagar told the news outlet.
The police have launched a probe into woman’s death. CCTV cameras were also being scanned to get leads ascertain the circumstances leading to the woman’s death.
