South African cricketer Tabraiz Shamsi took to social media platform X to draw a parallel between his performance in T20 Internationals and that of star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah’s exploits with the ball have been well documented as he spearheaded the Indian side to the ICC T20 World Cup in the Caribbean earlier in the year.
The Protea spinner shared an update that read, “Fun fact… Jasprit Bumrah and I have played the exact same amount of T20 international games Bowled the exact same number of balls in those games And taken the exact same amount of wickets! Such a crazy coincidence”.

Shamsi was part of the South African side that made it all the way to the final of the ICC T20WC 2024 but fell at the final hurdle as they went down to India. South Africa looked to be in command at one point in the summit clash before the men in blue clawed their way back into the reckoning before clinching the game thanks to an inspired spell from the side’s star pacer Bumrah.
