The 600 km long Dhammacharika (padayatra) of Buddhist followers will start from Varanasi on November 16 and end in Kushinagar on December 8. The march received a grand welcome in Ishopur yesterday evening when it entered the Ghazipur border from Varanasi.

In Ishopur, Dhammacharika Padayatris preached the message of Mahatma Buddha to their followers. The first sermon of Lord Buddha started from Sarnath. This twenty-two day journey is being led by Buddhist monk Chandima Thero. In this journey, Buddhist monks will go to Kushinagar via Devdah in Maharajganj, the maternal place of Prince Siddhartha, which is famous as the place of Maha Parinirvana of Tathagat Buddha.
Addressing the meeting organized in Ishopur, Chandima Thero said that assimilating the teachings of Mahatma Buddha will lead to overall development of the society and the country. He talked about making India a world leader again through peace, harmony, harmony and goodwill. He also said that today caste and religious madness has spread in the society, in such a situation the teachings of Buddha are extremely relevant.

While welcoming the Buddhist monks on foot in Ishopur, Lalji Ram, Pannalal and Balmuni of Sidhauna Bazaar showered flowers. Monk Dr. Geeta said that in the spirit of Bahujan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaay, everyone should accept the ten precepts and four truths and five intellectual teachings of Buddhism.
