Coldplay has three shows scheduled for January 18, 19 and 21 in Mumbai following which Chris Martin and Co. will perform in Ahmedabad.

The Coldplay fever in Ahmedabad is shooting up with each passing day. With this, the prices of hotel rooms, too, skyrocket showing no signs of dropping. Ever since the British band announced their concert at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025, the city’s hospitality sector has witnessed a steep surge in prices around the band’s performance dates.

Coldplay has three shows scheduled for January 18, 19 and 21 in Mumbai following which Chris Martin and Co. will perform in Ahmedabad. With this, some of the hotel room prices in the city have gone up to Rs 90,000 per night on January 25. People, who have been trying to book hotel rooms, have rallied on social media to express their opinions.

A user shared, “Hotel rooms in ITC Narmada Ahmedabad are selling for 90,000 per night on the 25th. If you manage to get Coldplay tickets, you also need to spend 6 months of an Indian middle-class person’s income to simply visit the city. Coldplay plays, city’s hotel party.”

According to Hindustan Times, booking a room for January 25 will cost Rs 75,000 excluding taxes in ITC Narmada Ahmedabad. The price will round off to Rs 88,500 with taxes.

Meanwhile, other users turned to social media and noted, “Coldplay’s Ahmedabad Concerts Craze is on another level- Tickets Sold out in minutes, now reselling at sky-high prices! Fans are Frustrated , Long queues on BookMyShow, many left ticketless. Hotel Prices have also skyrocketed, fans look to nearby Vadodara. After Mumbai’s ticket chaos, ticket sales might be scrutinised. The craze shows Coldplay’s massive appeal in India, but it has its challenges!”

Someone also came forward to help. “Also not ranting just as a helpful gesture you can reach out to me if you are facing any accommodation issues I can guide you through it in Ahmedabad during the #Coldplay concert as I see the prices are soaring high for hotels as well but I can guide you through it of course FREE,” the person mentioned.

Another individual poked fun at the situation and added, “Willing to trade a 5 star hotel room against 2 tickets to coldplay in ahmedabad. lol, kya din aa gye hai!”

Coldplay will be in India for its Music Of The Spheres World Tour after a hiatus of nine years. Tickets were sold like hot cakes exclusively on BookMyShow. The shows are produced by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment experiential division of BookMyShow and Live Nation, the global promoter of the tour. In Mumbai, Coldplay’s shows will be held at DY Patil Sports Stadium.
