Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Monday announced that from Tuesday, November 19, all physical classes for Class 10 and 12 will be suspended, and lessons will be conducted online instead.

“From tomorrow, physical classes will be suspended for Class 10 and 12, and all studies will shift to online mode,” Atishi in an X post said.

The late announcement comes hours after the Supreme Court directed all states in the Delhi-NCR region to suspend physical classes for all school students up to Class 12, in response to the deteriorating air quality.

Meanwhile, the University of Delhi also announced that classes will be held online till Saturday, November 23.

“Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi & NCR has deteriorated to an alarmingly high index. In the larger interest of students, it has been decided that the classes shall be conducted in Online Mode till Saturday, 23rd November, 2024,” the university said in an official release.
