Ashwini Singh, Registrar of the Central University of Lucknow, BBAU i.e. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, has been suspended. Action has been taken against him today following the recommendation of the disciplinary inquiry committee.

The registrar’s room has been sealed as soon as the order was issued. Now it is believed that Prof. UV Kiran will now be the next registrar. However, the order in this regard has not been issued yet. It is expected that this order will be issued on Tuesday.

Allegations of corruption in the name of awarding tender Ashwini Singh has been accused of corruption in the name of awarding tender. Along with this, there is also an allegation of tampering with the minutes of the Board of Management. As soon as he joined, a writ petition was filed against him in the High Court. Ashwini Kumar Singh, who was the Joint Registrar of BHU, took over as the Registrar of BBAU in July 2022. He was considered very close to former Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjay Singh. On 5 May 2024, after Prof. Sanjay Singh left the university, Prof. NMP Verma took over the charge of Vice-Chancellor.
