A case of robbery of Rs 32,800 has come to light near Palhana police post of Devgaon Kotwali in Azamgarh district of a woman who was taking money home from the bank. After getting information about the case, District SP Hemraj Meena along with the district’s forensic team and field unit visited the spot.

Police reached the spot and are scanning the surrounding CCTV footage. So that the accused who carried out the incident could be traced.

Lalati Devi, wife Nagina, a resident of Ranmo Bammopur of Devgaon Kotwali of Azamgarh district, along with her son Mukesh Kumar had gone to Lalganj market on Wednesday on a bicycle with Rs 2800 to buy wheat.
After not getting wheat, the woman reached State Bank of India. While she was going home with her son Mukesh Kumar after withdrawing 30 thousand rupees from the bank and keeping it in Chhola, two youths came on a motorcycle near Khaniyara village on Masirpur-Palhana road, one of whom was wearing a helmet and the other was wearing a mask. They stopped the cycle from the front, snatched the money kept in the chhola and ran away towards Palhana.
The victim informed about this incident by dialing 112. As soon as the information about snatching was received, the police reached the spot and met the victim and took information about the incident. The police officers who reached the spot are busy in uncovering the incident.
