A three-day international seminar on ‘Population and Development Navigating Challenges and Exploring Opportunities’ was organized at Shri Jai Narayan Mishra College, Lucknow. On the second day of the seminar, experts expressed their views and also expressed their views on many issues.

Discussion on population and resources The first panel session was chaired by Prof. AK Sharma did it from IIT Kanpur. Pro. Anand Kumar (JNU) said that today’s young generation is more intelligent and resourceful than before. He said that in the 80s and 90s, population growth was considered a problem, but now it is being seen as a resource. Along with this, he talked about four important elements for the proper development of population: Merit, Mobility, Market and Morality. Pro. Devnath Pathak of South Asian University discussed the effects of developmentism and pointed out that it has had a negative impact on culture and society in small towns.

Discussion on women empowerment and gender inequality The second session was presided over by Prof. Sanjay Singh Giri Institute did it. In this session Prof. Arvinder Ansari, Jamia Millia expressed his views on the effects of aging on women and their role in society. Pro. Shweta Prasad Banaras Hindu University said that the most effective contraceptive is in development, because the population is found less in developed countries than in developing countries.
Discussion on population and sustainable development The third session was presided over by Prof. D R Sahu Lucknow University. In this session Prof. Ulrik Schurkens France and other experts gave views on migration and its development. He explained that migration affects the population and economic situation in developing countries. Cultural presentations were given at the conclusion of the seminar. College Principal Prof. Vinod Chandra welcomed all the guests. Many teachers, researchers and students from India and abroad were present in this seminar.
