On Wednesday, villagers demonstrated against the closure of country liquor shop in village Sunwaha of Banpur police station of Lalitpur. After the protest started in the afternoon, the officials reached the spot and assured to close the shop and the shop was closed.

The shopkeeper reopened the shop at 5 pm, due to which the angry women started creating a ruckus. The women gathered at the liquor shop staged a strong protest and demanded its immediate closure. As soon as information about the uproar was received, police and officials reached the spot. The officials ended the protest by convincing the villagers and the protesting women.
warned of agitation Villagers say that the liquor shop is promoting anti-social activities in the village. Due to which women and children are being affected the most. The villagers have warned that if the shop is not closed completely, they will launch a major agitation.
