When it comes to suspense and unravelling ancient mysteries, few names resonate as strongly as Dan Brown. The mastermind behind The Da Vinci Code and many other global bestsellers, Brown recently gave his fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into his writing journey through an Instagram reel. Known for weaving intricate puzzles into his novels, it seems even Brown has his own mysteries to solve – like finishing his long-awaited book. In his recent video post, Dan shared a situation which is amusing for writers everywhere, be they newcomers or seasoned authors.
In the clip, he shared, “A lot of you have been asking me when I’m finally going to finish my new novel. As you know, it has been in process now for over 6 years. It’s been kind of a lonely, challenging time, but I’m very lucky.”
He went on to express gratitude for the support of his fellow writers, sharing how they avoid pressuring each other during tough creative spells. With a warm nod to John Grisham, he added, “And one place I’m getting a lot of support is from the great John Grisham. John’s one of the nicest guys I know. He writes a little bit faster than I do. He will write a book or two a year.”
Then, Dan shows off Grisham’s latest novel, Framed. He opens the book to reveal an inscription, “To Dan Brown. Where’s the book?”
With a smile, Dan wraps up the video, saying, “Nice to know I have friends who care.”
