Starting work in this direction, Dr. M Selva Balan, Joint Commissioner of Central Water and Power Research Laboratory (Khadakwasla, Pune), Ministry of Jal Shakti, visited the area and surveyed the flood problem. MLA Romi Sahni and Executive Engineer Flood Division Shardanagar Ajay Kumar were also present with him. This survey gave hope to the area residents to get relief from floods.

During the survey, Dr. M Selva Balan and his team conducted a study to explore the possibility of building dams on both banks of the river and desilting the river to protect it from floods.

MLA Romi Sahni gave several suggestions to the team to solve the flood problem and said that the team will inform the higher officials about the situation, so that concrete steps can be taken towards the solution soon. After this, another team will come here and do the final survey.

Apart from this, Palia MLA Romi Sahni has also been struggling for a long time to solve the problem of desilting and flooding of Sharda River. Regarding this issue, the city’s Ramlila Committee and Hope organization have raised this matter strongly by filing a writ petition in the High Court. The petition is being advocated exclusively by Rajesh Bhartiya.

It has become clear from the efforts made so far that serious work is being done towards taking concrete and permanent steps to get relief from the flood problem.
