Two contract linemen got burnt late on Friday evening while shifting on the 33 KVA line of Khadiya power substation located in Shaktinagar, Sonbhadra. Both were immediately admitted to Atal Hospital. Where after first aid, seeing the critical condition, both of them were referred to Varanasi.

According to the information, work was being done through Giraffe (hydraulic machine for electricity related work) in front of the General Manager office of NCL Krishnashila area located in Shakti Nagar police station area late on Friday evening.

Seeing critical condition, doctors referred

It is alleged that the workers were not given proper safety equipment. It is being told that during the work, the contract linemen got electrocuted, due to which they got burnt and got seriously injured after falling down from the bucket of the Giraffe machine. The incident caused an uproar. Both the injured linemen were admitted to Atal Hospital, NCL Bina. Here, after first aid, the doctors referred him after seeing the critical condition.

Working in Kota sub station

Contract line men Satyendra (32) and Sunil Kushwaha (34) working in Kota sub-station were doing the work of shifting 33 KVA high tension line. During this time, I don’t know how the current in the wire suddenly got affected. Both of them fell down from the giraffe, getting burnt by electric current. It is alleged that in the absence of JE, high tension line shifting work was being done without taking shutdown.
