In Banda district, the disabled community staged a strong protest today regarding their various problems. Nearly half a hundred disabled people reached the collectorate and raised slogans against the district administration. Protesting disabled people took 16 steps to solve their problems.

Angst of disabled people regarding demands
The disabled people sitting on strike alleged that the promises made by the government have not been fulfilled till now. Their major demands include Antyodaya Ration Card for the disabled, grassroots implementation of the Disabled Act 2016, facility of uninterrupted travel in roadways buses, payment of pension of Rs 515 as promised in the election manifesto and accompanying the disabled in police posts. Misbehavior is taking place.
Problems raised in 16 point demand letter
Disabled society has also raised many other issues in the 16-point demand letter. Their demand is that the government should provide free electricity and one free cylinder in three months to the disabled. Apart from this, to provide employment opportunities to the disabled, a loan of Rs 5 lakh should be given on the guarantee of the government and government lease should be provided to the landless disabled.
Question on bribery process in CMO office
The disabled people alleged that bribes are taken by doctors for making certificates of disabled people in the CMO office. He demanded to end this process and also said that the District Magistrate should meet the disabled and listen to their problems.
Administration’s attention to the demands of the disabled
The disabled people participating in the protest appealed to the Prime Minister to fulfill their demands soon. He says that the attitude of government officials towards the disabled should change and they should get proper benefits of all the facilities available to them.
