Villagers caught a young man who was stealing a bike in the vegetable market located at Harhua in Baragaon police station area on Friday morning. After getting information from the villagers, the police arrived and brought the youth to Harhua police post. While escaping from the police post on the pretext of suspicion, he killed a constable.

About six bikes have been stolen from the old vegetable market of Harhua in a month. Even on Friday, a youth broke the lock of a farmer’s bike in the vegetable market. He was about to run away with the bike, when the vehicle owner caught him. After this, the people present in the market beat him and informed the police. Constable Upendra Kumar brought the youth to Harhua post.

When the young man was matched with the CC footage of old incidents, it was found that he had committed incidents of bike theft earlier also. The soldiers were preparing to take him to the police station. Meanwhile, he told about going to Laghushanka and started running away from the police post. When constable Upendra Kumar caught him, he pushed him in front of a speeding bike going towards Babatpur.

The constable’s leg was fractured due to the collision with the bike. The leg of the injured soldier has been plastered in a private hospital. On the other hand, Baragaon police station incharge Atul Singh said that a youth has been arrested on charges of theft. He is giving wrong name and address. He is being interrogated. Necessary action will be taken against him.
