Truck drivers carrying sugarcane towards Maijapur Sugar Mill and Bajaj Kundarkhi Sugar Mill are openly flouting the rules by exceeding and overloading. There are neither reflector lights nor any warning signs on these trucks. The fitness check of many vehicles is also questionable.
Incidents of trucks overturning due to overloading are coming to light, due to which there is a possibility of major accidents. Negligence of truck drivers and violation of traffic rules has become common. Despite the traffic month being declared as November, there is no improvement in the situation.

Strict stance of transport department Transport officer Shailendra Tiwari said on this issue, “The matter has come to our notice through you. Strict action will be taken by running a campaign against overloading. No vehicle will be allowed to run without fitness check. Till now many vehicles Challan has been issued, and instructions have also been given to the sugar mill management to stop such trucks.”
Action continues on ignoring rules The Transport Department has increased its vigilance in this matter and action is being taken continuously against overloaded trucks. Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against drivers who ignore the rules. Local people have demanded strict action from the administration. He said that due to these overloaded trucks the roads are getting damaged and there is a risk of accidents. The administration should be more strict in such cases.
