Truck drivers carrying sugarcane towards Maijapur Sugar Mill and Bajaj Kundarkhi Sugar Mill are openly flouting the rules by exceeding and overloading. There are neither reflector lights nor any warning signs on these trucks. The fitness check of many vehicles is also questionable.

Incidents of trucks overturning due to overloading are coming to light, due to which there is a possibility of major accidents. Strict stance of transport department Transport officer Shailendra Tiwari said on this issue, “The matter has come to our notice through you. Strict action will be taken by running a campaign against overloading. No vehicle will be allowed to run without fitness check. Till now many vehicles Challan has been issued, and instructions have also been given to the sugar mill management to stop such trucks.”
