Under the leadership of Safai Mazdoor Sangh President Gautam Balmiki, the employees staged a sit-in in the municipality premises, raising slogans and protesting. The sanitation workers raised slogans against the municipal administration. After that a memorandum was submitted to the Tax Assessment Officer in the name of the Executive Officer. In the memorandum, the employees said that the salaries of all the sanitation workers should be increased.

EO said something to consider As per the mandate of outsourcing, contract employees should be given daily wage of Rs 912 per day. EPF of contract employees should be deducted. Arrears and five years’ bonus should be given to permanent employees. The arrears of contractual employees should be paid from 2016 to 2024. Hundreds of employees were present during this period. The employees have warned of indefinite protest if their demands are not met. Executive Officer Shikohabad says that the demands of the employees will be considered. Whatever demands are acceptable will be fulfilled. There will be talks with the employees regarding this matter.
