Dressed in all red, Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor paused and posed for the shutterbugs.
Veteran actors Randhir Kapoor and his wife Babita Kapoor made a rare public appearance. For the couple, it seems like Christmas came early as they were spotted donning matching red outfits. A video of the duo stepping out together is doing rounds on the Internet. In the footage, the couple can be seen smiling and posing for the shutterbugs.
Randhir looked relaxed in a long, comfortable red tee paired with black trousers. He completed his look with brown sleek shoes and for the festive touch – a Santa Claus hat (because no Christmas celebration is complete without it). Babita coordinated perfectly with Randhir and wore a red top paired with white pants and comfortable low-heel sandals. She accessorised with a cream-coloured purse.
As the couple posed happily for the shutterbugs, an unexpected moment occurred when a reversing car nearly bumped into them. In a quick reflex, Randhir held Babita’s hand to pull her away from the danger. Fortunately, the car only grazed them and they both smiled and continued posing for the cameras. Randhir waved cheerfully at the paparazzi still in high spirits despite the close call.
Take a look at the video here:
Randhir and Babita got married in November 1971 at the age of 24. They first met as co-actors in the film Kal Aaj Aur Kal and their on-screen chemistry turned into a relationship. They are parents to Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor. However, the couple got separated in 1988 due to various differences.
In an old interview with Hindustan Times, Randhir opened up about the reasons behind their separation. He mentioned that Babita wasn’t happy with the way he lived his life, particularly his drinking habits and late nights.
“And I didn’t want to live the way she wanted, and she couldn’t accept me as I am, though it was a love marriage. So it’s okay. We had two lovely children to look after. She brought them up in the best way, and they excelled in their career. What else could I have asked for as a father?” he had shared.
After they split in the mid-80s, Randhir and Babita led separate lives. Babita raised their daughters in Lokhandwala while Randhir stayed in his ancestral home in Chembur. The couple eventually got back together after being separated for over three decades.
